REI Accelerator Reviews: What Members Say About Their First Months
By the REI Accelerator team ·
People searching for REI Accelerator reviews usually want to know one thing: what actually happens after you join. Sales pages and marketing videos can only tell you so much. The most useful answers come from members themselves, written in their own words, often in the middle of a busy week when they had no reason to polish anything.
This article collects what members have posted publicly inside the REI Accelerator community, organized by the stage they were at when they wrote it. It follows the path most members describe: getting oriented, building deal flow, submitting the first letters of intent, and getting a property under contract. Every quote below is shared with permission. Individual results vary, and the timeline depends on each member's experience, market, and the hours they put in.
Before joining: why members come to REI Accelerator
Most members arrive with some real estate experience. Some have been buying single-family rentals or flipping houses. Others work in real estate as agents, lenders, or property managers. A good number come from completely different careers and are looking for a way to build long-term wealth and impact at the same time.
The common thread is a desire to scale into apartments. The obstacles they describe are consistent: finding off-market apartment deals, securing capital partners so they do not have to use their own money, analyzing and structuring the deal correctly, getting a loan sponsor for bigger deals, and setting up a syndication the right way. Many also say they want a peer group of investors at or above their level.
“Before joining I was on the slow single family route but now I have the confidence and the network to take down 30+ unit apartment deals.”
Week one: getting oriented
New members start by building a custom plan with a personal business coach. That plan sets out weekly and quarterly goals and the order in which to tackle them. From there, members begin working through the REI5 training, a step-by-step program covering how to find, fund, fix, fill, and flow apartments using syndications.
The first days are also when most people introduce themselves in the Skool community. Those introduction posts say a lot about who REI Accelerator attracts. REI Accelerator describes itself as a group of faith-based investors who care about impact as much as income, and many members say that is what drew them in.
“Kristan and I joined the community today. We're looking forward to meeting like minded people who want to be blessed by our Creator so we can abundantly bless others. I'm looking to retire this next year from being a full time pastor. This is a perfect avenue to be a great steward of God's resources.”
Weeks two to four: building deal flow
Once the plan is in place, the focus shifts to deal flow. Members pull lists of apartment owners, set daily calling targets, and start building relationships with brokers in their target markets. Depending on the plan, some members also use the done-for-you VA cold calling service, where a virtual assistant is recruited, trained, and managed for them, and the leads are sent over each day.
One member described his first two weeks in detail. His update shows how quickly the work becomes concrete: trainings completed, a calling list in hand, a daily target set, and broker conversations already underway.
“Good morning from NY. Just wanted to say I joined two weeks ago, and so far, it's been great. 1) Almost halfway through all trainings including the 555 Challenge 2) Obtained my list from List Source (I have 290 owners to call, I will do 30 - 40 a day) 3) Started talking to some brokers who are sending me lists of off market.”
Weekly Zoom collaboration calls and 4-6 accountability calls each week are designed to keep this momentum going. Members bring their numbers, their questions, and the deals they are looking at, and get feedback from coaches and other investors who have already been through the same steps.
The first LOIs
A letter of intent is a non-binding offer that sets out price and key terms before a formal contract. For many members, submitting their first LOIs is the first milestone they celebrate in the community, because it means they found a deal worth pursuing and ran the numbers with enough confidence to make an offer.
“Hello everyone, Just wanted to share a huge win.... I submitted 3 LOIs, at the start of the week! ahead of my Schedule already”
Members with access to the personal underwriting team can send deals in for a report and assessment before they submit. That report covers what they can afford to pay and any cautions about the property, which helps newer investors avoid overpaying on their first apartment deal.
Under contract
The next stage is getting a property under contract and moving into due diligence. Members who reach this point tend to credit the people around them as much as the training. One member who went from social work to a 40-unit apartment summed up the experience this way:
“So you'll find that REI is both a professional network and a family community. Depending on your background, there may be alot to learn and do, but the process works. We were social workers until last year, and now we're about to buy a 40-unit apartment! Work hard, list to coaches, network with REI and in-market brokers, insurance agents, etc. and you'll do great.”
Others post their wins in short bursts of excitement. One member shared that a contract on a 43-unit property had been accepted. Another wrote that the group helped them close a 34-unit deal, followed by a 54-unit deal three months later.
“This group is what got me my first 34, then a 54 just 3 months later. Forever in debt to you guys ! Amazing.”
What these reviews have in common
Read across dozens of member posts and a few patterns stand out. Members describe a clear plan from day one, daily activity on deal flow, regular accountability, and a community that celebrates every step, from a first list of owners to a signed contract. They also describe hard work. None of these reviews suggest the results came without effort.
If you are considering REI Accelerator, the best next step is to keep reading member reviews, watch the video testimonials to hear members describe their deals in their own words, and book a call to talk through which plan fits your goals.
