Is REI Accelerator Legit? How the Program Works, Step by Step
By the REI Accelerator team ·
If you are researching REI Accelerator reviews, you are probably also asking a more basic question: is REI Accelerator legit, and what do you actually get? This guide answers that by walking through how the program is structured, who runs it, who it is built for, and what each part of the membership includes.
One note before we start. Each REI Accelerator membership and plan is built around the member's needs and goals, and not everything listed below comes with every plan. On an enrollment call, an advisor walks through which combination makes sense for you.
What REI Accelerator is
REI Accelerator is a real estate investing program that provides mentorship, training, and community support to help investors scale into multi-family commercial real estate using syndications and strategic partnerships. In a syndication, a group of investors pools capital to buy a property that would be too large for one person to buy alone. The person who finds and manages the deal is the sponsor, and the investors are capital partners.
The program describes itself as a high-level mastermind. In practice that means members get a structured curriculum combined with ongoing coaching, accountability, and a peer group of other investors working on the same kinds of deals.
Who runs it
REI Accelerator was co-founded by Jonathan Cronin, who is also co-founder of REI Capital Group, and Larry Kite, who is also co-founder of Southcorp Group. The team holds over 100 million in assets under management, with experience across apartments, auto repair, hospitality, assisted living, Airbnb, storage units, wholesaling, fix-and-flips, restaurants, and e-commerce.
Who it is for
REI Accelerator is built for real estate investors, real estate professionals, and business professionals who have at least some real estate experience and want to scale through apartments. Members typically join because they are struggling with one or more of these:
Finding off-market apartment deals. Securing capital partners so they do not have to use their own money. Analyzing and structuring the deal correctly. Getting a loan sponsor for bigger deals. Setting up a syndication the right way. Finding a peer group of investors at or above their level.
1. Coaching and a custom plan
Every member starts with a custom plan built in 1 on 1 sessions with a personal business coach. The goal is to make every step clear: which markets to target, what to do each week, and which milestones to hit each quarter. Members have daily communication with their coach as they work through the plan.
2. The REI5 training
The REI5 program is a step-by-step training covering the full process of building a multi-family portfolio. All live events are recorded, so members who miss a session can catch up on their own schedule.
3. Community, collaboration, and accountability
Members join a Skool community where they can share wins, ask questions, and connect with other investors. Weekly Zoom calls give members a chance to collaborate and learn from mistakes others have already made. On top of that, 4-6 accountability calls each week keep members on track toward their weekly and quarterly goals.
“The training, materials, and resources alone is worth the entire investment much less the network and support”
4. Deal analysis and underwriting
Some plans include access to a personal underwriting team led by an experienced commercial analyst. Members can send deals in for processing and receive a report and assessment that covers what they can pay and any cautions about the deal. For newer apartment investors, this is often the difference between making a confident offer and walking away from a good deal out of uncertainty.
5. Deal flow: done-for-you VA cold calling
REI Accelerator runs a recruitment arm that recruits, trains, and manages virtual assistant cold callers for members' businesses. The VAs call owners and send members the leads they find each day. Members can scale this with as many recruits as they need.
6. Capital raising
The Capital Raise Accelerator covers capital-raising strategies and intensives, with a focus on turning cold capital investors into long-term partners. This is the part of the program aimed at the question many members start with: how do I buy an apartment building without using my own money?
7. Legal support
REI Accelerator is not a law firm. It has partnered with SEC attorneys who handle the legal work for syndications, including the paperwork and agreements needed to protect members and their investors.
8. Support
Members have 24/7 support through the community, plus email, chat, and calls with their success coach. They can also reach other key players, including attorneys, CPAs, HR directors, corporate fundraisers, and underwriting specialists.
So, is REI Accelerator legit?
The clearest evidence is what members say and do. Members have posted accepted LOIs, contracts on 40-plus-unit apartment buildings, and first deals followed by larger ones months later. You can read those reviews on our homepage and hear members describe their deals in video testimonials. If the program sounds like a fit, book a call and an advisor will walk you through which plan matches your goals.
